While the land was initially cleared in the 1920s using a dredging technique called "finger islanding" to create the residential district, it wasn’t until the 1980s that it transformed into a premier luxury residential enclave. A purchase restriction was introduced, requiring new buyers to completely rebuild existing homes, ensuring a modern and upscale aesthetic throughout the neighborhood.
